Step by Step process

1. Firstly, you have to fill out the CSC Application form at https://www.campuschina.org/index.html

2. From the right top, click on “Scholarship Application for Students”.

3. Select a language from the right top.

4. If you are not registered yet, click on “Create an Account”.

5. Register yourself.

6. You will get an email to verify. Then click the “Application Online” and “Edit Personal Details”.

Remember that all the information you are provided is accurate because it will be used in application documents.

7. Then “Verify and Save” and then “Finish”.

8. Select your desired scholarship program.

9. For example select “Type A Application” and put the correct authorized agency number or number of the selected university.

The matched agency name will automatically show on the page after entering the agency number.

You can find code through the internet or the university.

10. Please continue to fill in the next section “Language Proficiency and Study Plan”.

11. Applicants can choose their preferred institutes, and system will match them with available universities based on their “Student Category and Preferred Teaching Language”. Check if your chosen Chinese university requires an online admission application along with a Chinese Government Scholarship application.

If it requires an online application, submit your application on the university website and attach your Chinese Government Scholarship application.

12. Click back to the home page and click “Help”.

13. Download the file Catalog of “Discipline Field, First-level Discipline, Specialty”.

From this, you can see the difference between the Discipline and Major.

Applicants can withdraw and edit their application before processing. After processing, it cannot be edited or withdrawn.

14. Then “Print Application”.

15. Send the application form to the Chinese embassy.

Please make sure to submit your scholarship application according to the guidelines set by the dispatching authorities or the application processing agency.

18. Make 2 sets of hardcopy documents and dispatch them to the address of the university.

If your selected university requires an online application, submit your application on the university website and attach your Chinese Government Scholarship application.

19. Applicants who have been accepted will receive both an official admission letter and a scholarship award letter.

It’s essential to keep in mind that the preferences field carries a lot of weight. When selecting a university, students usually base their decision on their preferences. To prevent any misunderstandings, it’s advisable to include the same university name in all three preference fields. Moreover, if you’re applying to more than one university, ensure to send complete sets with the relevant university names to the respective addresses.

  • All educational documents, degrees, and transcripts must be notarized by the notary public
  • Preferred are two recommendation letters from associate professors or above, with at least one letter from your MS supervisor if they are Associate or above (see sample recommendation letter here).
  • Include a photocopy of the foreign physical examination form along with all reports. X-ray or ECG reports are not required, only the examination report is needed. Make sure that the reports should not be older than 6 months.
  • The proposal should not exceed two pages, and it should include 5-6 latest references at the end.
  • An English Proficiency Certificate is also necessary.
  • HSK Chinese Language Certificate (if any), not compulsory.
  • Provide information on any articles or publications that you have.
  • Experience certificate if you have any.
  • Passport copy
  • Other certificates if you have any, that you could provide
  • 3 Photos
  • IELTS or TOEFL
  •  CV
  • You will be preferred if you have an acceptance letter from the professor of the University in which you want to take admission. Send an email to the professor of your chosen field. It’s a sample email and letters to get an acceptance letter from the professor.
  • Another important but not essential document is a pre-admission letter. It is not easy to achieve it but if you get this you will be preferred to be awarded the scholarship of that university.
