The University of Twente UT scholarships are wonderful scholarships that are offered University of Twente Netherlands.  The scholarships are available for international students who want to pursue a master’s degree in the Netherlands under scholarship. Almost 50 scholarships are provided to talented and well-deserving students every year.

The main objective of the scholarship is to make the students:

Benefits of scholarship:

The Twente university scholarship is partial funded scholarship that can provide benefits such as:

  • Scholarship amount of € 3,000 – € 22,000 is awarded for the duration of 1 year.
  • The scholarship covers the cost of study in UT.
  • 2-year scholarship program provides grant for 2 years.
  • The scholarship will be extended for a second year after you fulfil the requirements.

What is the eligibility criteria of the scholarship?

Applying for a UT scholarship is a different process from applying to the University of Twente for a course.

  • Admission letter: You must first obtain an academic admission letter regardless of funding.
  • Admission in master’s: You must get admission in one of the qualifying UT Master programs. The program must start from September 2025–2026 academic year.

Note: Please be aware that it could take up to eight weeks after submitting your application for results.

  • Students ID: You need to have a student ID mentioned in admission letter.

  • Study at UT: You have not completed an undergraduate or graduate study at UT;
  • Entry requirements: You meet the requirements to enter the Netherlands with a visa (if applicable);
  • English requirements: You meet the requirements of the general English language test.
    • Academic IELTS score of 6.5 or
    • TOEFL iBT score of 90 with an extra 6.0 (TOEFL iBT score of 20) on the speaking skills subscore.
  • Academic record: the scholarship is awarded if you are among the top 5–10% of your class. The student must have a good academic record.
  • Nationality: You must be an applicant from non-EU/EEA countries.

Who is not eligible for UTS scholarships?

  • Dutch students and/or existing UT students
  • Students from the EU and EEA
  • The Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) does not offer the UTS for Master’s programs.
  • The pre-Master program does not have access to the UTS.
  • Additionally, UTS pre-Master students who want to proceed with a Master program are not eligible to apply to the UTS.

2-years scholarship program:

There is a 2 years’ scholarship program that provides a scholarship for 2 years. The 2nd year scholarship will be awarded only when students fulfill their needs. The amount is same as that of first year of scholarship. These are:

  • An average grade of 7 (out of 10) at the end of the third quartile of the first year
  • At least 50% of European Credits at the end of the third quartile of the first year

How to apply for the University of Twente scholarships?

You can apply for the scholarship by following the below procedures:

  • Go to the official website of the University of Twente.
  • Apply for the master’s program in the subject of your choice. Application portal  is here.
  • Once you get your admission letter from the university, you will be eligible to apply for the scholarship.
  • Get your student number from the admission letter.
  • Enter your student number in the scholarship application form.
  • Fill the application form and submit before the deadline.
  • There are two rounds for the application submission.
    • Round 1 starts from 15th October to 1st February
    • Round 2 starts from 1st February to 1st May.
  • If your application is nominated for evaluation, it be sent to the selection committee that either accepts or rejects the application.
