Finland government offers the Finland Government Scholarships 2024-25 for international bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D students. It is a fully funded scholarship for all applicants from around the world except from the European Union. Students can apply without any application fee.

Finland Government scholarships aim to provide financial support and promote academic excellence for those who wish to study in Finland. No doubt, Finland is making a name for itself as a rising star on the international stage.

So, in Finland, there are basically two types of colleges: They both offer bachelor’s, master’s degrees, and PhDs but they have some differences in how they admit students.

  • Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) focuses more on teaching practical skills that are needed in the job market. They also do some research to help improve their teaching methods and to support the development of their local areas.
  • Universities are all about diving deep into scientific research. They offer more advanced education, like postgraduate programs, based on this research. Their main aim is to expand knowledge through research and to educate the next generation of experts.

Deadlines for Finland Government Scholarship

  • Every year in January, from the 8th to the 22nd in 2025, Finland holds the application period for studies starting in autumn (usually September). This is when you can apply to various degree programs, and the cool part is, you can apply to up to six programs all at once!
  • But here’s the thing: some programs also offer a January start option. For these, the joint application period opens up in September, from the 28th of August to the 11th of September in 2024. Just keep in mind that the September application has a smaller selection of programs compared to the January one. So, if you’re looking for more options, January might be the way to go!
