Swedish Institute Scholarships 2025 for International Students
The Swedish Institute Scholarships are the most reputed scholarships offered in Sweden. These are open for all the international students. This fully funded scholarship is available for the students who want to pursue their master’s degree in Sweden.
The scholarship is sponsored by Sweden government. It is funded by Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It aims to:

Benefits of Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals:
It is a fully funded scholarship which includes the following benefits to the awarding students.
- Tuition fees:
There is a full coverage of the tuition by the Swedish institute. It is directly paid at the start of each studying semester. Students don’t have to worry about it.
- Monthly stipend:
The monthly stipend is also allotted to the individuals in which they can easily cover their living expenses. There is an amount of SEK 12,000.
- Travel expenses:
The students from foreign countries are granted with the travel fund of about SEK 15,000 which covers the relevant expenses. However, anybody coming from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine are given SEK 10,000.
- Membership in NFGP:
The scholars will get an opportunity to become a member of the SI Network for Future Global Professionals. It is a network for the professional growth of the scholars in Sweden. It membership lasts till the study duration.
- Alumini:
The scholars will be kept in-touched by their network via SI Alumini Network. It provided professional growth and network opportunities.

Nationality:
The applicant must be the national of one of the following eligible countries for the SI scholarships.

University admission:
The applicant must be liable to pay tuition fee. He also need to ensure the submission of the application fees. The applicant admission in any one of the universities should be approved or conditionally approved.
Master’s program:
The choice of subject truly matters. One must choose the program that is eligible for the scholarship. There are almost 750 master’s programs in which applications are approved. Check the list of the eligible programs.
Additional work experience:
The applicant must hold strong leadership qualities and other qualities. The relevant work experience also matters a lot. Having a demonstrated work experience and leadership portfolio is a great edge for eligibility. The work experience may be employer, freelancer or any employee. Provide certification as well.
Who is not eligible for the SI scholarships?
You are not eligible for the scholarships if:
- You are pursuing any degree from a Swedish university.
- You remained resistant in Sweden for two or more years before the scholarship.
- You received a Swedish scholarship previously.
- You are a Swedish or European nationality.
DAAD scholarships are available for the international students.
What is the Application Procedure?
- Choose the university you want to study and apply for the admission in master’s program.
- Submit the application fee and fill all the necessary information.
- You will get an admission number which will be referred in the scholarship form.
- Once your application gets approved, you can apply for the scholarship.
- Fill all the information and related documents in the form.

You can apply for Swedish master’s programmes through University Admissions from October 15, 2024 – January 15, 2025. Make sure to submit your application before the January deadline!
The list of master’s programmes eligible for the SI Scholarship, along with the required documents, will be available on November 1, 2024.
