  • Have a strong academic record with all good grades.
  • Fulfil the entry requirements of the university.
  • Be enrolled at the degree program at the University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE)
  • Complete the standard study period, or the maximum qualification for the enrolling program.

Note: PhD students or students of degree courses liable to fees cannot apply for a UDE-scholarship.

  • The candidate must ensure all the eligibility requirements of the scholarship are met.

1. I’m confused—how do I even start applying to UDE?
 Start by checking if your chosen degree is on the online application portal (Uni-Assist). Follow the instructions step-by-step and prepare your documents early.

2. I don’t speak German well, can I still study at UDE?
 Yes! Some programs are taught in English, especially at the Master’s level. But for German-taught courses, you’ll need at least B2 German proficiency.
