Up to 130 scholarships are awarded each year by the rotary foundation. In this way, almost 1700 scholarships have been awarded since its initiation in 2002. Categories of Rotary International scholarship programs

The scholarship program offered two types of study modules.

  • Master program. It is of 15 to 24 months’ duration. Almost 50 master’s degree scholarship  are provided each year. These programs offer academic training, applied field experience, networking, workshops, and seminars
  • Professional Development Certificate Program. It takes only 12 months to achieve completion. 80 students are chosen for the certificate studies each year.  The main components of this program are:

Note: Master’s fellowship recipients are not allowed to study the Rotary Peace Foundation scholarship in their home country; they must move out of the country.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for Rotary International Fellowship Program?

The candidate for the master’s and professional development certificates are required to fulfil the following eligibility criteria. The candidate must:

  • Have a full-time bachelor’s degree in any subject.
  • Be fluent and proficient in English
  • Possesses a strong leadership potential and commitment to peace and development.
  • Contain a commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace.
  • Experience in peace and development work of nearly 3 years or more.
  • 5 years of experience in peace and development work is required for the professional certificates program.
  • Demonstrate commitment to conflict management.
  • There needs to be a gap of 3 years or more between the start date of the program and end of most recent degree.
  • People with any disabilities are also welcomed.

Additional Requirements for professional certificate program

There are some additional requirements that are needed to get entry in the host institution of certificate program. The candidate must have a complete explanation and plan to promote peace.

Candidates for Makerere University: They must have:

  • Belonged to African countries, or
  • Worked in African countries or communities, or
  • Domnstarted a compelling interest in paece buiding

Candidates for Bahçeşehir University: They must:

  • Be natives of Middle East or North Africa, or
  • Have worked in this region, or
  • Interest in peace reinforcement

Who is not eligible for the scholarship?

  • Current graduate or undergraduate students.
  • Member of Rotaract club, rotary member,
  • Employee of Rotary international or Rotary entity.
  • Any relative of the living person mentioned above
  • Former rotary members along with their relatives. 36 months must be passed to become eligible.

What is the application procedure of the rotary international scholarship?

To apply for the scholarship, you have to follow the given steps.

  • Check the eligibility criteria for the scholarship, that you want to chose.
  • Now, select the program and the curriculum of the course.
  • Choose two preferences for the master’s program research centers of your choice.
  • Create your account on the Rotary international foundation scholarship page. Register here.
  • Whenever the application portal is opened, click on the APPLY button and hop on the application form. 
  • Read the application manual and follow all the instructions.
  • First gather all the documents of the application mentioned in the manual.
  • Submit the application prior to deadline. Make sure to add the recommendation letters before submission.
