The BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health (BRAC JPGSPH) at BRAC University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, has announced the award of TDR Postgraduate Training Scholarships. The program for the 1.5-years Master of Public Health (MPH) 2025–2026 Program will be beginning in January 2025. It is focused on promoting problem-based experiential learning. The scholarship is supported by Tropical disease research TDR. This program is a UNICEF/UNDP/World Bank/WHO Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases. It is hosted by the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. Limited number of scholarships are available for the students on basis of academic excellence.
It is a fully funded scholarship that can cover the basic living expenses and educational fees. The health orientated scholarship scheme is only available for the students of low income and middle income countries. The main aim of the scholarship is to spread awareness about the health and wellbeing of the people specially related to tropical diseases and poverty.
What is MPH program?
MPH is an international program, which is typically 18 months long. The TDR postgraduate scholarship program is available for 1.5 years in Master’s in Public Health MPH. Academic background:
- Have a 4-Year Four-year college education or 3 Years as a Single man in addition to 1-Year Expert’s/Postgraduate Certificate Certificationin Health Sciences/Life Sciences/Social Sciences;
- Least CGPA 2.5 out of 4.0 or second Class/Division for Four-year Bachelor college education;
- Least GPA of 2.5 or second Class/Division in SSC/Same and HSC/Same (counting extra
- subject);
- Least GPA of 2.5 in O-Levels in five subjects and A-Levels in two subjects as per the scale (A=5,B=4, C=3, D=2 and E=1). Just a single E is satisfactory;
Language requirements:
- Capability in oral and composed English and essential Math;
Work background:
- Be a worker of an academic or research institution, not revenue driven association, or service of health
Other essential skills:
- Have the option to distinguish a nearby manager or tutor before the initiation of the program;
- Fundamental computer skills including Microsoft Office and Data Analysis Programming;
Nationality:
- Be a national or citizen of a low or middle paying country (as characterized by the World Bank) of:
- WHO South-East Asia locale (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Popularity based Individuals’ Republic of Korea,
- India, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Timor-Leste) or Eastern
- Mediterranean locale (Afghanistan, Djibouti, Egypt, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan,
- Tunisia and Yemen);
