DAAD Scholarship 2024-25 is for all international students who want to pursue German Education. An exceptional education is available in the top German Universities with fully funded scholarships for Masters and Ph.D. students.
Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships for international students to encourage German studies and the German Language, support developing countries to set up effective universities and become a hub of academic excellence.
This fully funded scholarship aims to support talented students worldwide to broaden their horizons, gain valuable experiences, and contribute to innovation.
Benefits of the DAAD Scholarship
DAAD Scholarship provides recipients with monthly coverage and other benefits including:
- Monthly payment for graduate students is 934 euros and for doctoral students is 1300 euros.
- Public universities and most private universities cover the tuition fee.
- Study allowance for one time
- Travel expenses will only be refunded if they are not already covered by the home country or another funding source.
- Health insurance.
- Scholarship recipients may, under specific conditions, be eligible for the following supplementary benefits:
- Monthly rental assistance
- Monthly allowance for accompanying family members
- Free accommodation at the university
- Short-term or one-year-long research grant
- Financial support and networking opportunities
DAAD Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Here are some points outlining the requirements that must be met for a student for the DAAD Scholarship 2024-25.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
- Two years of proven working experience
- The students do not need to comprehend German or English Language, it depends on the course they select.
- For English-language courses, applicants must provide either an IELTS certificate with a minimum band score of 6 or a TOEFL score meeting the following criteria: 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 80 (internet-based).
- For German-language courses, applicants must demonstrate proficiency at DSH level 2 or TestDaF level 4. Additionally, at the time of application, proficiency in German at level A2 is required. Enrollment in German language courses at levels A2 or B1 is strongly encouraged.
- Students from developing countries are eligible for this scholarship
- Academic degrees should not be older than 6 years
- Applicants need to show that they are motivated to contribute to the development and are willing to take on social responsibilities. They should be ready to make a difference in their personal and professional lives after completing a scholarship or internship.

- Hand-signed CV
- Hand-signed motivation letter explaining why you want to join the program (talking about your current job)
- Research proposal (if the university asks for it)
- Letters from your university recommending you; they need to be signed and stamped, and not too old
- Letters from your boss recommending you; they need to be signed and stamped, and not too old
- A letter from your current employer confirming you work there, and if possible, saying they’ll give you your job back when you return
- Copies of your degrees
- Copies of your school grades
- Proof that you know languages:
- English: IELTS or TOEFL (Remember, they won’t accept TOEFL from a specific institution)
- German – needed if your classes are in German.
