What are the Eligibility Criteria of the Scholarship?

  • Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian national or many belong to any Asian country.
  • Qualification: He must hold a FIRST Class Post-graduate degree from a reputed university.
  • Academic record: The academic record of the student must be impressive. He must secure his degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in both graduate and post graduate levels.
  • The candidate must be a full-time Ph.D. Scholar.
  • Registration in university: The applicant must already be registered/admitted for Ph.D. degree with a recognized University/Institution in India. 
  • Those who have applied for registration and have not yet been registered at the time of submission of the application are not eligible to apply.
  • Age requirement: The applicants should not exceed 35 years of age on 1st October of the year of selection.

Note: There is some relaxation for the age requirements of the candidates.

  • A relaxation of up to 5 years will be provided to the candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and to women applicants.
  • A relaxation of up to 5 years will be provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces, subject to the length of service in armed forces up to 1st October of the year of selection.
  • Total age relaxation on the above-ground (s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.

  • Postal Order/Demand Draft for Rs.100/-. Candidates belonging to SC/ST are exempted from paying this application fee.
  • Ph.D. registration certificate.
  • Necessary certificates as proof of category issued by the Competent Authorities should be attached. (EWS certificate should be for the current year).
  • Please send us self-attested photocopies of certificates and mark sheets in support of your age and educational qualifications.

Note: Incomplete and unsigned application forms are more prone to be rejected.
